Mother-of-Pearl Shell Earrings in gold

Would you believe this beautiful shell material comes from the core of the nautilus shell? It is derived from the very apex of the shell, where the chambers start out very small (see last photo of nautilus shell polished to the inner layers). The material is polished to bring out the iridescent glow of the mother of pearl.

White with a hint of pale green, the earrings are very nicely made, and hang from sterling silver ear wires. The earrings are just as pretty on both sides, light weight, and very unusual! Topped with a white Swarovski crystal pearl. Come in a gift box with little title card giving description and care instructions.
